BUENA PARK, Calif — Yamaha Corporation of America, Band & Orchestral Division, introduces the YTR-9335VS Allen Vizzutti Signature Artist Model Trumpet in the key of Bb, developed by Yamaha trumpet artist Allen Vizzutti and Yamaha Artist Services, Inc. Band & Orchestral Atelier Director Bob Malone.
Although similar to the groundbreaking YTR-9335NYS New York Artist Model trumpet, the new horn features a number of specialized design features, including brass valve stems and grey finger-button pearls. In addition, the third valve slide stop screw includes a solid screw head, which improves the instruments overall feel and response. Similarities to the YTR-9445CHS Chicago Artist Model trumpet include placement of the first valve slide brace, and third valve slide.
“Bold and beautiful, easy blowing, rich harmonic structure, open high register, seamlessly soars through all styles of music; the best Bb I have ever played, is here,” says Allen Vizzutti, International Trumpet Soloist.
The YTR-9335VS was designed to make high-register playing on a classical trumpet design more efficient. Historically, classical trumpet designs tighten up or lose their intonation when played in the extreme high range, which hovers above the usual range of most classical compositions.
“This instrument offers the best of both worlds classical trumpet tone, and stability in the lower and middle registers,” says Kurt Witt, Wind Instrument Marketing Manager. “It also enables a very efficient and responsive upper register, similar to the feel of the popular Yamaha jazz trumpets.”
A special package of Allen Vizzutti CDs and Yamaha logowear will be available free to anyone who purchases a YTR-9335VS and sends in a rebate card through December 31, 2008.

“Bold As Brass” event at the Cinnamon Club in Altrincham, near Manchester, England, was a resounding success. This November, 2006 day of workshops, clinics, rehearsals and master classes for brass players saw the likes of the legendary Allen Vizzutti, Bryan Corbett and the BBC Philharmonic section inspiring brass players (both young and old) to work on their playing.
Representatives from Dawsons, Yamaha, Taylor Trumpets, Edwards Trombones, Mirage and Music Exchange were also on-hand to staff the trade stalls where brass enthusiasts could get their hands on a real bargain. Organiser Peter Pollard from Manchester was delighted with the way the day went. “I am very grateful to all the manufacturers and the fantastic artists who helped make this possible. I have had so many phone calls and emails from people who came, simply thanking us for putting this event on, that I’ve already started making plans for next year!”
